UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (UN SDGS) AT ALTEK METAL:
At Altek Metal, we operate in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Our investments, particularly in the foundry sector, align with Goal 6 on Clean Water and Sanitation, Goal 12 on Responsible Consumption and Production, and Goal 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. Through our ongoing investments, we contribute to building a sustainable future.
- Goal 6.4 By 2030, substantially increase water-use efficiency across all sectors, ensure sustainable withdrawals and supply of freshwater to address water scarcity, and substantially reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity.
We aim to contribute to this goal by annually reducing our water consumption and measuring and lowering our fresh water usage ratio.
- Goal 9.4 By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource-use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes.
Through investments in solar energy and our foundry, we are modernizing our infrastructure, taking steps towards a low-carbon future. We aim to significantly reduce our emissions in Scopes 1, 2, and 3 categories by 2030.
- Goal 12.2 By 2030, achieve the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources.
Our investments in solar energy and recycled aluminum materials production help reduce our CO2 emissions per ton. We plan to make substantial reductions in our emissions in Scopes 1, 2, and 3 categories by 2030.
- Goal 12.a Support developing countries in strengthening their scientific and technological capabilities to move towards more sustainable patterns of consumption and production.
Since 2020, our factory’s solar panels have been generating an average of 2,000,000 kWh of electricity annually, covering 50% of our own needs. We continue to enhance this capacity through new investments.
- Goal 12.5 By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse.
With our annual capacity to recycle 50,000 tons of industrial scrap, we contribute to the recycling rate in the aluminum sector, aiming to significantly reduce waste generation by 2030.
